Sun Strip is a removable and adhesive strip that applies to any technological piece of equipment that runs on electricity. As soon as the strip, roughly the size of a band-aid, is applied to the surface of the piece of technology, the internal energy shifts from electricity to solar energy. With small, solar panels, the strip absorbs the UV rays into the piece of technology. The computer, smart phone, tablet or mp3 player then stores the energy for future use.
Sun Strip has evolved from a small and simple problem into an idea into a complex possible product. In a day and age where "green" methods of energy consumption are highly considered, it seemed only appropriate to think of a product that would ultimately solve a common problem that also has environmental benefits as well. The Sun Strip was initially originated because there were not enough outlets in Bird Library at Syracuse University. Thus, solar energy panels were thought to be an efficient replacement.
When the first lecture post was created, the idea was merely an egg that needed to be incubated and developed. Without any knowledge of modern technology, many questions immediately arose: Can I build this? Do I know anybody that can build this? After asking myself various questions on the possibility of creating the product, it slowly and surely became clear to me that this was a personal idea but could not become technology that I produced. Thus, it was determined that a particular "tech team" was necessary for the efficiency and success of the Sun Strip.
Throughout the semester, lectures were taught every Monday and Wednesday by Professor Rubin. Each lecture provided a plethora of valuable information that were applicable to the Sun Strip. From social media to cloud computing to databases, the fundamentals of IST 195 provided alternative prospectives to consider when creating a new product or service. The attained information was valuable and necessary for the continuing evolvement of the Sun Strip.
In addition to Professor Rubin's lectures, the amount of available time was also beneficial. While it may not be often considered, time is, in essence, the most valuable asset that we are granted. Being able to develop a product over the course of two months allowed my brain to consider the various details and problems of the Sun Strip, ultimately providing improvements. The comments and the productive critiques of my peers also encouraged me to make changes that I would not have thought about.
The egg that has been incubating over the course of two months is ready to hatch. However, the idea cannot become a reality without the necessary tools and brains. An abundance of solar panels are required in order to create a prototype for the Sun Strip that would be cost-effective and durable. A "tech team" must also be established in the beginning to essentially connect the actual product with the computer and the target audience. While this is highly plausible, it will take trial and error, patience and a desire to always improve a product to suit the needs of its customers.

Databases

Databases, or a set of tables, are often implemented because they are able to accomplish quick queries and are able to draw quick decisions pertaining to information. Each table within a table contains certain attributes that distinguish and sort the information based on criteria. The database schema is also important to evaluate because the style of organization can vary from the different information of different companies.
Above all, the Relational Database Management System, or RDBMS, is vital for the management of the complex details that come with databases. Within the RDBMS, the security management, or simply the access of data, is important to preview because valuable information is readily available for exposure. It is also necessary to observe the multi-user access control which grants multiple users to access data. For the Sun Strip, I think it would be in the best interest to limit the number of people that are granted access to the valuable information. Furthermore, many people are not needed to complete the necessary management of the Sun Strip's database.
In the terms of the Sun Strip, I think it would be best if the product data was predominantly analyzed in a physical and conceptual manner. This approach simply analyzes how data is stored, accessed and modified. This technique appeared especially applicable to the Sun Strip because the received data does not reveal any relationships that impact the product, it is simply information that must be stored. The implemented database of the Sun Strip, should remain intimate and simple for the sake of the customer's and for the sake of the product.

Since the Sun Strip is a small solar panel, I can also learn more about the solar technology. This eco-friendly blog is particularly interesting because of its title. It intrigues the reader to question if the blog is actually solar powered. Since this feat is highly plausible, the name adds credibility to the company and the authors of the blog for implementing what they are suggesting and/or advertising. Within this blog, the author dictates his/her observations of various solar-powered technology and facilities. For instance, there are posts regarding the never-ending components of solar energy. Topics range from the buildings that implement the technology to the pros and cons of solar energy. In other words, the wording of each lecture post is unique in its own way, attracting different demographics.
In my own opinion, this blog about solar energy is extremely revolutionary and interesting. The numerous blog posts are informative and intriguing for readers who may not know much about alternative forms of energy. The layout of the blog is also unique. In essence, the blog is intertwined with the online market of the products the company offers. This is a economical and efficient way to turn readers into interested customers in a single integrated website. It appears that the company is interested in selling products for customers who truly are trying to live a "greener" lifestyle. The only constructive criticism that can be suggested is organization. The blog was not visually appealing where it did not grab my attention. Afterwards, I was also unable to efficiently navigate through the blog.
